Tequila is Widely Available at Rocco’s Tacos in Fort Lauderdale

Tequila is a regional specific name for the distilled beverage that is making waves all over the world especially the U.S. Tequila is made from the blue agave plant that grows in the surrounding city of Tequila. Tequila is located in the northern western state of Jalisco.

The red volcanic soil in the region is particularly well suited for growing the blue agave plant. The town Tequila is the birthing place of our most favorite beverage. It all started in 1856 when Don Cenobia began to export the ‘mezcal de tequila’ to the United States and implemented the use of steam to cook agave.  After his death, Don Cenobia’s son took over the family business. Though now the family does not own the business anymore its still named the same.

Rocco’s Tacos, in Fort Lauderdale’s Las Olas neighborhood, is the king of tequila.  It’s bar features a plethora of brands, like the Fortaleza we’ll talk about today.

There are three types of Tequila’s offered by the company:

  • Fortaleza Blanco: this one gives out the most beautiful aroma you have ever experienced. The smell of the richly cooked agave is just out of this world. There are also other ingredients present in the beverage that totally enhance both the taste and the aroma. They include; butter, olive, earth, black pepper and a deep inviting vegetal complexity. The flavors include citrus, cooked agave, vanilla, olive, basil and lime. The taste is exceptionally good and it finish is deep yet easy to drink.
  • Fortaleza Reposado: this one is from the Tequila valley and is cooked in a stone or brick oven. Its crushed with the help of stone and fermented in the open air wood tanks. This one has an aroma of citrus, caramel, butter, cooked agave and sage. The beginning is a pleasingly balance and a very unique experience. The taste is not similar to any other tequila; it has a taste of its own. The flavors include; cooked agave, citrus, vanilla, apple, earth and cinnamon. As it is visible from the ingredients that it must have a rich and a deliciously spicy finish for sure. This is so deliciously tasty that it’s not only loved by the beginners but also the experienced tequila drinkers.
  • Fortaleza Anejo: this comes from the tequila valley and is cooked in the stone/brick oven. It’s crushed with stone and fermented in an open air wood tank. These caramel, vanilla, butterscotch and cooked agave aromas give the perfect glass of tequila with a rich and complex flavor that people taste all fruits like pineapple, peach, orange, blossom, nutmeg and raisin while sipping it. The cooked agave gives a thick and oily texture in the mouth but in a very soothing way. The common flavors include butterscotch, caramel, toffee, citrus and hazelnuts. It’s a heavenly experience if you are a tequila lover. It’s very classy choice to make, I absolutely love it. I remember I gifted it to my husband on our anniversary and he totally loved it. It is one of the best tasting tequila that you could ever find. It is  a must try for all tequila lovers!
