The Miami DolFans got their money’s worth last night when the home town team lost a heart breaker to the rival New York Jets, 31-23. Although Chad Henne and Brandon Marshall had their best games of the year, the Jets proved to come up in the clutch en route to a victory that pits them in a first place tie with Miami and New England.

Some blog notes from our crew, who ended up sitting on the Jets side among some rowdy New Yorkers…..

*Many celebs were in appearance, including owners J. Lo and Marc Anthony. Also seen were LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat.

*Fergie did a duo with Marc Anthony in the National Anthem.

*Jason Taylor was booed. Loudly. Not by us though. We love JT, he was pushed out of town. People seem to forget that.

*Jason Taylor had gatorade dumped on him after the game by coach Rex Ryan. Seriously.

*The game was virtually decided before kickoff when the inflatable Dolphins runway prop would not inflate. We knew right there it would spell trouble.

*Ricky Williams lost the handle on the ball a few times.

*The Offense played very, very well. Davone Bess, Brian Hartline, and Brandon Marshall all had integral roles in the game.

*Many people were very, very drunk. It pretty much was a standard Miami vs. New York game.

We’re hung over, tired, and got little sleep. We had to bring some JETS FANS to the airport.

Tomorrow is a new day. Stay well Miami.

I woke up this morning and almost puked – the New York Jets picked up wide receiver and former SUPER BOWL MVP Santonio Holmes from the Pittsburgh Steelers. They sent Pittsburgh a 5th round draft pick in return. They may have enticed them with two packs of unopened airline peanuts as well! Seriously, how does Pittsburgh do that to the league? What an embarrassment. A fifth rounder? Seriously?

All this means is that Miami can NOT let Jason Taylor sign with New York, who moved up even higher on the expectation charts of all who follow the NFL and the AFC East. The acquisition of LaDainian Tomlinson was significant, especially after losing running back Thomas Jones, but also adding CB Antonio Cromartie and now a serious deep threat to go opposite Braylon Edwards makes New York among the favorites to reach the Super Bowl, let aside the pesky division they compete in.

New York is making moves, and if they get to steal Jason Taylor as well, it’s basically a final kick in the nuts to the Dolphins organization. Of course, nothing is set in stone and you never know how these new players will play as a member of the JETS, but hey, on paper, the team looks good. No, scratch that – GREAT. Dolphins fans, you should not be happy.

One final plea to the current regime – don’t let JT go to New York. He’s been the face of this franchise for as long as I can remember. Yes, he is aging, but seriously, do NOT let New York get him. Reward the man, he’s put his butt on the line for the Fins for a while, and made plenty of DolPhans happy along the way, providing many memories.

More to come later…I just threw up again…..

Die-Hard Dolphins fans will certainly be peeved at this, but I think it is a good thing for the AFC EAST.

The New York Jets beat the San Diego Chargers 17-14, led by a second half surge of scoring after trailing 7-0 at half. Rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez made many key throws to lead the Jets over the Philip Rivers-led Chargers, who were a 7 point favorite.

This brings us an AFC championship game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Jets, who had a prior game in which the Jets beat Indy to ruin their quest at a perfect season amidst a lot of booing from Indy fans who wanted to make a run at history.

The Jets were led by Shonn Green, the rookie from Iowa, who led a punishing ground attack that was highlighted by a 53 yard touchdown run in the second half that all but sealed the Jets comeback.

In the other game, Minnesota ROLLED the Dallas Cowboys 34-3 behind 4 Brett Favre touchdown passes.

The Super Bowl will be played at Landshark Stadium in Miami, which is always a place that brings plenty of tourism and fans who are willing to shell out thousands of dollars to watch the Super Bowl.
