The Miami Dolphins made a big hire when they hired Mike Nolan, most recently the Defensive Coordinator of the Denver Broncos, to the same position with the Dolphins.  Nolan has head coaching experience, as he coached the 49ers from 2005-2008.  Nolan was known for his penchant for wearing a suit in honor of his late Father, who wore a suit as he coached.

Nolan is considered by many a defensive mastermind, having turned around a Denver Bronco defense that was less than impressive, leading them to a stunning 6-0 start in the 2009-10 season.  Many people credit Nolan for that extreme turnaround, and its’ a big reason why he was lured to South Florida.

The Florida Marlins are making an effort towards the environment in making their new stadium efforts as green as possible. Most pieces of the stadium are made from pieces from the old Orange bowl as well as other local materials that could be salvaged, per the Miami Herald.

12 of UM’s 26 oral commitments for football next season are South Floridians.
