The city is a master-planned, family-oriented dream, which makes it popular among affluent families that have children who can play in the many parks and participate in the community activities.  Weston neighbors Davie, Sunrise, Pembroke Pines, and Southwest Ranches. It boasts the largest youth soccer organization, multiple modern Publix supermarkets, various Italian, Mexican, Asian Fusion, Latin, and even other types of specialized eateries.  There is a diner, there are Latin bakeries, and of course, a couple locations of Dunkin’ Donuts.  Bottom line, Weston offers casual and fine dining for all tastes.

With a population of just over 60,000, Weston is made up of 27 square miles in land size.  The business climate in Weston is also worth noting.  Companies range from Fortune 500 sized organizations to owner-operated retail establishments, restaurants, warehouses and many other businesses.  The world-renowned  Cleveland Clinic Florida, Broward Health Weston and the Miami Children’s Hospital Dan Marino Center are all in Weston, Florida.

Several hotels and golf courses also outline the city of Weston and provide entertainment for guests.  Weston borders the Florida Everglades and is home to over 2,200 acres of preserved wildlife and natural refuge.

Home prices in Weston can go into the millions.  With luxury laden gated communities abundant, there are still price points for all interested in living in Weston.  A five bedroom home in a gated community can be had for $450k+.  There are many housing options in Weston.  It’s a great place for new families -the community offers so much.

The real estate for sale in Southwest Ranches is precious, but each home comes with a price tag.  You see, this is a unique community that really is “like a big dude ranch.”  There are no stop lights in the town, and the rural community takes pride in the fact that you can ride by horseback as you wish.

Many people who are from the Midwest enjoy this town, as it feels like “home.”  Packed with grazing animals, nurseries offering all sorts of native plants and landscaping, farms,  and a diverse population of wild life.

Residential and agricultural zoning makes up the majority of the town of Southwest Ranches,  which also has a stipulation that all home lots must be a minimum of one to two acres.   According to the official town website of Southwest Ranches, the town “was formed to stop encroaching development, and all our Council Members have pledged to “preserve our rural lifestyle,” which includes donkeys braying, roosters crowing, and no sidewalks.”

There are many amazing properties in Southwest Ranches.  If you didn’t have a real estate agent who knew the area, you may not ever get the full experience.  The town is full of master-designed mansions that sit on acreage and fully encompass the wildlife and scenery.

Southwest Ranches became an official city in 1996, after a vote was held to either make it part of Davie, Pembroke Pines, or to become a new city.

There was a contest held in order to name the Town, and 122 ideas were submitted. An official vote  took place on October 12, 1999 to pick one of the top five names, and Southwest Ranches was the winner.

One of the hottest rappers in the game right now has listed his South Beach condo for sale.  Rapper Lil Wayne, who has a number of top hits under his belt, including “Mrs. Officer,” the track about romancing a female police officer, has listed his condo at South Beach’s Murano Grande for $2.8 million.  The rapper is about to go to jail for a gun possession charge, and certainly will have no use for the luxury unit in one of South Beach’s top condo buildings.  Miami real estate expert and blogger Kevin Tomlinson called the price “very reasonable” on his South Beach Condo Blog.

Tomlinson also reports that the rapper has a “penchant” for Miami Beach real estate, citing the rapper’s recent rental of a home of 15,000 square feet on the uber-fancy La Gorce Island.  Apparently he also has showed interest in the Apogee building on the very Southern tip of South Beach.
