The Miami Hurricanes made Coral Gables proud yesterday as they knocked off their hated rival Florida State in a thrilling win that came down to the final minute. Jacory Harris showed everyone why he won so many games at Northwestern high school by leading Miami with a career best 386 yards — the most ever by a Miami quarterback against the Seminoles. Harris was making his first career start against Florida State and third start overall.
Harris showed poise all game long, being cool, calm, and efficient in the pocket. His only INT came on a play where he was hit HARD by a charging FSU player. That play led to Harris holding his shoulder and Freshman QB A.J. Highsmith warming up. But, Harris came back and played gutsy football as he led the Canes to a thrilling victory. The young Hurricanes football team now cracks the top twenty nationally, and look forward to hosting Georgia Tech next weekend at home at Landshark Stadium.
