Miami is called the “Magic City.”  Known for it’s tropical climate, beautiful beaches, and unparalleled nightlife, Miami is among the most popular travel destinations for young adults and jet-setters worldwide.  With a laundry list of activities and events that can always ensure a good time, it’s no wonder people flock to Miami each year.

Miami is the 7th largest city in the US, with a population of over 5.4 million people.  Miami is home to many international banks, television studios, recording studios, and modeling agencies.  The Port of Miami is the world’s largest passenger port for cruise ships around the world, and most major cruise lines make constant stops in Miami or even embark on their journey directly from the port.

Miami is also home to many popular sports teams.  Starting with the ever-successful Miami Hurricanes program, a powerhouse in football and most other division one sports, there is never a lack of activity in Coral Gables, where the University is located.  The Miami Hurricanes, or “The U” as their football program is notoriously known as, is a national powerhouse every year and among the most successful football programs in the history of the NCAA.  Known for dominating the South Florida recruiting circuit and keeping local talent around Miami, the U is a national powerhouse each and every year.

The Miami Heat, Miami Dolphins, Florida Marlins, and Florida Panthers represent the city in the four major sports.  The Marlins are in the process of building a brand new Stadium in Little Havana as of January 2010.

There is also a long list of other Universities around Miami, including Florida International University, Barry University, Johnson & Wales, Miami Dade College, St. Thomas, and Nova Southeastern.
